Aunti Bobbi the Clown is well known around Nanaimo for her encouraging way with children, expert balloon contortion skills and her colorful costume. What most people don't know though, is that the whole clown thing started with a pair of sparkle shoes.
"When I walked into the thrift store and saw the sparkle shoes, I knew that I was destined to be a clown,” says Bobbi. “But that was seven years ago and now they really badly need to be replaced.”
Bobbi"s five dollar investment (she bought two pairs at $2.50 each) has served her well but the soles of her glitter shoes are starting to wear thin.
“People love my shoes. That’s why the sparkle shoes must stay,” she says. “If I can’t find them, I’ll have to find a way to make some.”
Bobbi actually has a new red pair of sparkle shoes but having a matching pair just isn’t good enough. “I’d really like to get a purple pair, or green, or blue…”
